Gold Powered Jackson Blue X Good Friday's Autumn
Jackson's Saint Pattie (JSP) is the perfect trail horse. Even early in her training, she proved to be very sane on the trail. Her 3rd trail ride, right in front of us a QH colt fell in a trench. His trainer went to throw her leg over to dismount and help when he LAUNCHED himself in the air and went full on bronc. He took off into the trees dragging and kicking his trainer repeatedly. JSP stood like a rock and never moved a muscle. I remember thinking that day, "Thank God I am not on a quarter horse or I'd be in those trees with her!"
JSP has continued to show that great nature, year in and year out. She has guided at the Roman Nose Hills Trail Ride many times. We have gone all over NE Oklahoma. She has been a great horse to take riding friends along on, willing and easy. Wherever you go, you will get compliments on her, she is quite beautiful with her dark bay coat and light brown accents. She loves attention and a rider that she can develop a deep relationship with. If you give her love and respect, you will have your equal as a trail partner.
JSP's dam is Good Friday's Autumn who was by Supreme Versatility Champion Good Friday K and Supreme Versatility Champion Autumn Go Gal. She was a full sister to 1987 Versatility Honor Roll Model Champion My Gal Friday. I would also venture to say that it is likely that 1988 Versatility Model Champion Friday's Go Gal is also a full sister to Good Friday's Autumn. She was also anywhere from full to half sister to Supreme Versatility Champions Friday's Marauder K, Good Friday's Hope, Friday's Time Bomb K and Friday's Lady Blue K.
Legendary Lineage
Good Friday's Autumn was bred by Ann & Bob Kuykendall of Windy Hill Farm in Muskogee, OK. She had a 1992 Versatility Honor Roll in Model. She had at least two foals before passing, Senorita Miss Autumn and Jackson's Saint Pattie. Both mares possess big beautiful doe eyes, pleasing heads, and even better dispositions that I can only imagine come in significant quantities from their mother.
Jackson's Saint Pattie's granddam was a 1983 Supreme Versatility Champion. Originally she was owned by the lady who won the championships with her, and later became part of the Kuykendall herd. Autumn Go Gal was the dam of 10 foals, including My Gal Friday, Good Friday's Autumn, Fridays Go Gal, and I believe Good Fridays Hope- all with versatility awards.
JSP's sire is Gold Powered Jackson Blue. My favorite personal story of "Jack" is that at 89 years young, I asked Ann if she still rode. She said, "Yes, I get on bareback and ride around the farm occasionally." I asked who she rode. She looked at me incredulously and answered with a slight scoff, "Well, Jack! Of course!" At 89 years old, this 5' woman was still jumping on her STALLION bareback for evening strolls around the pasture. Let that sink in. Jack was only campaigned for a short while before being retired to the breeding shed, due to injury. Jack has a very amicable disposition, which is his greatest attribute to our program. I have walked out on 40 acres, stabbed him in the neck with a vaccine, and walked off with zero issue, no halter.
Jack's sire is Gold Power (by the famous Pride's Gold Coin). Gold Power is the a full brother to the more famously known, Coin's Hard Cash . (See also Westwood Farm's page). While Jack's pedigree reads like a recall list of some of the best show horses of all time, his dam's side is nothing to sneeze at either. Jack's dam was the California State Champion Yearling in 1988. Her sire was Best of Generator (1993 International Grand Champion Model Stallion) and she possessed many other great champions up close, such as Pride's Generator, Rodgers Perfection, and Merry Go Boy. I had the luxury of meeting Generator's Jubilee "Jubee" before her passing in 2021.
